Currently #33 in the Golfcast college rankings, and still only a sophomore, with one of his LBSU teammates being the younger brother of Patrick Cantley.

Technically this isn’t PGA or LIV related, but I thought it was funny enough to put on this golf thread.  This is the Australian Club Championship in Melbourne.  This is quite awesome, but**WARNING** it has curse words and and strong language.

tiger is hosting the hero world challenge this week. he announced that he's withdrawing from the tournament but will focus on his hosting duties. he has plantar fascitis and it's too painful for him to walk.

in his press conference this morning he said he still has all the shots he needs but the pain of walking is too much. he's planning on playing two tournaments in december, but only because both of them will allow carts since they're unofficial events.

Yeah hard to discern what is being said because of their goofy accent, except that this wasn’t some weekend warrior trip to the golf course.

This was their Club Championship.  Would love to see the next member/club board meeting.

Tiger Woods doing an extended press conference on Golf Channel. He was working towards returning and developed planter fasciitis on the damaged foot. So he won't be returning to the tour any time soon.

You can see how much this is weighing on him because he is so competitive. He looks like he is in his 30 year old shape with even more upper body strength. 

Now they are focusing on LIV Golf questions as if he is the PGA spokesperson. He has always been well spoken and is fielding every question.

Watching The Match and the first hole Woods almost drove a 310 yard par 4. After the dust settled with Spieth, McElroy and Thomas, Woods was the last to chip on and sunk his birdie putt. That puts him and teammate McElroy all square in this 2 team format. 

That is the good news. Watching him walk is painful. Tim Salmon once said Planter Fasciitis is like walking on a nail in your shoe and that is exactly what he looks like he is trying to do. They are all riding carts but he still has to walk to his ball.

for the second week in a row, guys playing on the DP World Tour are allowed to wear shorts. i might have missed an announcement about this being temporary or permanent, but i'm glad to see it. 

i think it's been silly to allow women and caddies to wear shorts, but not the men.

Watching the PNC coverage, it's really just a practice round. Woods is playing with the corporate sponsers along with his son Charlie. They just tee'd off on 18 and Tiger shot a phone video of Charlie's swing then discussed it with him. He pointed out the top of his backswing was perfect, and it is. That kid is going to be a pro if he wants to. 

Tiger has been chipping and putting but no drives or fairway work. He is definitely limping so saving himself for weekend play. It is tough watching Woods walk but Charlie looks like he has a hitch as well, he is playing hurt as well. The word is he rolled his ankle before the tournament. This is a, like father like son, that they probably shouldn't do.

The TOC is over. Morikawa went into the final round with a six shot lead. He shot 72 and lost to Rahm by two.

X-man returned after missing almost 2 tournaments, finished with a 62 to finish 3rd, two back.

LIV Golf finalizes 2023 schedule, including 9 new sites and 3 Trump courses

 

Interesting schedule.  And by interesting I mean, no South Africa or Argentina stop.  I would have also thought they would have tried a Japan stop.  Looks like they they propped up 2 tourney's before each of the majors.
