Scheffler is such a machine out on the course. He bogies 7 and then recovers that stroke on the next hole with a birdie. He has logged one bogey per round so far but also carded an Eagle today on the 2nd hole and six birdies.

The entire field is bunched up but Scheffler starts with a two shot lead and his playing partner has never won on the PGA tour. Someone is going to have to go really low to have a chance against Scheffler.

Scheffler is the new generation of Tiger. He just won his 6th PGA event in his last 25 starts.

To put that in perspective, Rory was the closest to that.  It took Rory 53 starts to win his 6th event.

And to top it off, at least for those of us who have seen the Netflix series of Full Swing, Scheffler is a great guy.  I am a big fan of his.

Did you mean his 6th win in his last 25 starts? Because he's played more than 25 PGA events.

Description of Jordan Spieth's day today at the 16th hole.

ShortMonth7161.gif

He looked like he was cruising along in a three way tie when he sliced a ball into the water, couldn't take distance since it never touched land and had to lay up because of the drop lie scoring a bogey.

Then he misses a short birdie putt on 17 and that mentally carries over to 18 where he 3 putted dropping him all the way from a playoff chance to tied for 3rd.

His playing partner, Schenk, lost his focus and on the 18th tee hooked his ball into the base of a tree, then over hit a left handed inverted clubhead shot over the fairway into the rough. He then joined Speith missing the rise on the green and having his ball roll back to the collar for an 18 footer that he blasted through the hole and ended up with bogey to give Moore his first PGA win.

X-man rallies from one down with two holes left to win outright, and move on to the Sweet 16 at WGC Match Play.

Was he the one that got that huge bounce off the rocks on 17? That incredible gift saved his bacon.

Scheffler looks almost unbeatable.
