I could see Barria being part of our rotation next year. I'd also love to see Detmers sooner rather than later.

Barria really pitched well, after the first two batters faced.    Keep him in the rotation as long as he pitches like this. 

93-95mph is something new from him, give him a chance to remain a starter at the MLB level.

Ohtani, Cobb, Suarez, Sandoval, Barria, Detmers as starting rotation would be ok if they had a lights out bullpen and good offense.

They could use one more veteran dependable starter but I don't think there is enough money to sign one.

7 complete for Barria and only 2 runs allowed (both coming off back to back homers to start the game). Does he get sent back down to Triple-A or is he here to stay especially with the trade deadline coming soon?

He's on the Salt Lake shuttle. He is only pitching to give Ohtani an extra day before he pitches. Barria will trade places with a reliever.

New play by play guy should let the video of the game speak for itself sometimes.

Seems like he feel the need to say “ground ball” when a ground ball is hit, “throws to first”, etc and it just isn’t necessary to say out loud everything when you are pbp for a game on tv.

Obviously for radio you have to paint the whole picture but for tv you can sometimes just let the game speak for itself and after a guy grounds out you can then just say “two outs.”

This is true yet so sad. Hopefully the deadline resolves things soon. He deserves a chance to stick in the rotation.
