Yeah, I don't really read too much into this.  They've already said they think he'll need a rehab assignment, so the fact that they haven't yet said when/where it'll be likely means we're still a decent ways away from him playing in the majors.  But who knows?  Maybe they'll end up skipping the rehab stint.

I doubt they'll skip his rehab assignment but I do think he will be here before August.

On June 23 vs the Giants Ohtani went 6 innings, gave up 1 earned run and struck out 9. 

Suzuki was his catcher.

Seems to me the first week of August when the Angels are on the road, would be a good time for Trout's rehab assignment.

Then he rejoins the team for the Angels homestand starting the 10th.

Tonight, I'll either be blacked out entirely -- that A's home market thing -- or be joining in progress after 8 if MLB Network doesn't also black out the A's. I think my cable will get PIT@AZ, instead.

I've heard that the Angels have a new broadcaster, but I have yet to hear or see him. I ROOT for the Angels in the M's extended home market.

I was looking at the schedule also. I'm hoping after these two games in Oakland Trout goes to SLC instead of traveling with the team Minnesota. He does his rehab games in SLC Thursday-Saturday and is back in the Angels lineup for our next home game versus the Rockies next Monday, July 26.
