My guess is this is 100% about having Bundy face off vs Greinke.  Angels have a tough April, I'm sure Maddon will use the flexibility of the 6 man rotation in any way he can to get favorable matchups.

I doubt Canning warming up in the pen caused him to be unavailable for tomorrow's game. Angels have a day off on Wednesday and Bundy is a much better pitching matchup for Greinke. We need to build off this strong start and Bundy gives us that chance.
