I don't know. I think the Callaway/Bauer rumors certainly had some legitimacy, but I also wonder whether they were ever seriously in on him with his asking price. If Callaway were the main deterrent and the Angels really wanted Bauer, I don't see why they'd keep Mickey over him. I feel the lack of interest is due more to money than anything else. They commit long-term to players, but they've never gone too wild on a pitcher's deal.

 

 

CJ Wilson (5 years, 77.5MM) is the longest I can think of in recent memory for the Halos. Perhaps  I'm blanking.

At the beginning, I thought it was all being orchestrated by Bauer to build interest and drama. Now, I am wondering if Bauer is starting to rethink his marketing plan.  I wonder if he would have been signed by now for the money he wants if he simply kept his mouth closed and stayed away from social media.
