I don’t think they’re a good indicator of the severity of an outbreak, still interesting to follow though.  Particularly with the US, I’m curious how high we end up getting.  Half a mil seems imminent?  Will we eventually get to 1 million?

We might. We also might not. Either way I hope they don't report on it because it's not even close to being the most important statistic.
