I love record stores

Why?  You like the smell of vinyl in the morning?  I like my music through the internet, it arrives without using a bunch of plastic.Plastics_cartoon.jpg

I don't miss video stores, one-hour photos, or record stores. But I miss newsstands.

I kind of miss video stores. Nothing like the empty new release shelf, or eyeing the sketchy curtain with the back-room of porn.

I miss the idea of record stores more than the reality. A few do still exist, but I never bother going in.

I really miss used and independent and quirky bookstores. They do still exist, just not as many as 20 years ago.

I miss it all, but like you, appreciate the convenience of GET IT NOW Technology.

Man, having flashbacks and feeling nostalgic remembering trips to Blockbuster, Hollywood Video, Licorice Pizza, Tower Records, mom and pop's video store, the Mad Platter/Rhino Records in Riverside, CA, newsstands everywhere to pick up a copy of Baseball America, Baseball Digest, there's one other popular one I cannot remember.

Thanks for bringing me back, @Angelsjunky. Good times!
