Not to be an ass, and not to purely pick a fight, but Scioscia has said all along that they will work in conjunction with Ohtani to develop how to use him. So, let's say that Scioscia or a coach asked Ohtani how his arm is feeling today, and Ohtani said "a bit sore". Or what if Ohtani woke up with a bit of the flu? Scioscia then takes Ohtani out of the lineup, and he would never reveal that potential soreness or illness to anyone.

I'm clearly NOT in Texas and have no way of knowing if this is or is not true, but it is possible. I don't want anyone claiming that I've said that Ohtani is sore or injured or anything. I'm just pointing out as fans, we are only able to see such a tiny amount of the information that goes into a manager's decisions. Things like this do happen (I've been aware of reasons why a player wasn't in the lineup that I couldn't reveal), and fans were going nuts about the decision. I'm just pointing out before the board flips out and goes crazy over this decision that it is possible that other factors could have weighed in on the decision.

Your theory just got blown off the planet with Ohtani pinch hitting at the end of the game. Scioscia just does weird inexplicable shit.

Just saw Trout's first AB.  I feel like he gets more called 3rd strikes out of the zone against him than any player I've ever seen.

Rangers home crowd is pathetic once again.  It's the first two weeks of the season against a div rival.   That  team is circling the drain.  They literally have nothing at SP except an aging Hamels (34).  Odor was the next great 2bman according to many (not me) yet he was one of the worst players in baseball last year.  Mazara is decent with some upside.  Probably a Calhoun type.  Gallo is a Dunn clone.  Nice player.  Andrus has good value but has an opt out after this season with 4/60 and a 15m vesting option left if he doesn't for age 30-34.  I would have said he'd opt out after this year for sure until this off season.

I think they'll break up the band after this year.  I bet Andrus gets traded at the deadline.  They made a pretty sad effort to stay competitive this year.  Farm system isn't great either.  They could get a few pieces from the current roster but probably nothing overwhelming.   They've got some 90-100 loss seasons coming for the next 3-4 years.

It’s nice to see that franchise shit the bed as their city pays over $500 mil for a new stadium. My heart is warmed.

All called 3rd strikes against Trout 2017-2018.
