Rangers home crowd is pathetic once again.  It's the first two weeks of the season against a div rival.   That  team is circling the drain.  They literally have nothing at SP except an aging Hamels (34).  Odor was the next great 2bman according to many (not me) yet he was one of the worst players in baseball last year.  Mazara is decent with some upside.  Probably a Calhoun type.  Gallo is a Dunn clone.  Nice player.  Andrus has good value but has an opt out after this season with 4/60 and a 15m vesting option left if he doesn't for age 30-34.  I would have said he'd opt out after this year for sure until this off season.  

I think they'll break up the band after this year.  I bet Andrus gets traded at the deadline.  They made a pretty sad effort to stay competitive this year.  Farm system isn't great either.  They could get a few pieces from the current roster but probably nothing overwhelming.   They've got some 90-100 loss seasons coming for the next 3-4 years.  

Tell them they aren't a baseball town ... see what happens...   JD pissed away a lot of talent on deadline deals for Garza and other mediocrities..

Pleased with Skaggs this year - obviously 114 pitches to get through 5 innings isn't very good, and he's had his share of bad jams the last two starts - but he's working out of them instead of imploding. I think he's turning a corner.

Or he simply wanted to give him an extra day of rest, while the team was hitting well, because he pitched a helluva game two days prior.

Yesterday had many good things to it.    Amongst them was given the key relievers the night off.  

Props to Bard and Paredes for getting through 4 innings and saving the other relievers, and of course props to the hitters for making it possible.
