No HRs being hit in that 11 run inning?

They were last in the AL in HRs (97) that season.  

They did have two young players in that lineup who became All-Stars elsewhere, Norm Cash (Tigers) and Johnny Callison (Phillies). 

KC had two familiar names in their lineup: Whitey Herzog and Roger Maris.   They also had a young pitcher, George Brunet, who eventually was a starter for the Halos in the mid-late 1960s.

KC became essentially a Yankees' minor league team, as they made quite a few trades with the Yankees, including acquiring Billy Martin and trading Maris away.

And we thought pitchers today were wild?

Ironic that it was Callison with the lone hit, after I talked him up as one of the two young guys in the lineup who would make a much bigger name for themselves elsewhere

Eight of those walks were bases-loaded ones, as was the HBP. Three pitchers were used in that inning. 

The game lasted 3 hours and 12 minutes. White Sox 20, A's 6.

Today, a game like that would go five hours, easily.

And that's Ray Boone in the Chicago lineup, father of Bob and grandfather of Aaron and Bret.

He reached on an error to lead off the inning and scored on the Callison single. Later in the inning he walked, forcing in a run.

Eleven days later he was traded to the A's.
