Great win last night, as Brown continues his comeback season with yet another critical goal late to tie it and Carter scores 2 more goals including the OT winner.

Despite two clunkers against the Blues and Devils, and the 3rd period meltdown vs a bad Hawks team, the Kings are 8-4-1 in their past 13 games.

Need to get 4 pts these next 3 games.   The Western Conference race for spots 4 through 8 is intense.

So far in the month of March the Kings will win one game and proceed to lose the next one.

Can't even get a simple 2 game winning streak. That can't be a good thing. At least tonight we got the pity point so I'll take that.

I’ll take the 3 points in 2 hostile environments. Doesn’t get any easier against a good Avs team.

Have to finish off this week strong. Tough road trip against all contenders

On the bright side, 5 of the last 6 games in this regular season are at home.    About that meh home record though?

With Calgary far enough back and SJ red hot, it could come down to Kings/Dorks for the last playoff spot, if the 4th and 5th place teams in the Central Division have more points.

Kings caught a break with Soderbeg being out sick. He would have been out there against Kopitar and on those d-zone face offs. That leaves MacKinnon and 3 rookie centers, one of which is in his sixth NHL game. Also destroys the PK. And doesn’t help that Varlamov is playing his 20th straight. Bernier is just back tonight as the backup.

You’re also seeing how sloppy the Dmen can be moving the puck against pressure

Well Varlamov is getting some much deserved rest now. Kopitar is just eating the AV's lunch tonight. Kings winning every battle tonight. Terrible effort by the AV's tonight.

First King to have a four-goal game since Luuuuuuuuc! back in '93. Fortunately, I didn't get to see a single minute of the game. Grrr!

solid victory the night. Was concerned about the Avs tonight but the boys came to play.  Reider looked terrific.

Luuuuuuc's also came against the same franchise, when they were in Quebec.

Kopi is now 6th in NHL points (86 on 33 goals and 53 assts for 12th spot on both), very outside chance at 100 pts.

When was the most recent season a Kings player even had 90 pts?     Back to the 1990s?

What is with the team being mediocre (19-14-3) at home, yet 22-14-4 on the road?   Staples Center is a loud place and very supportive.

Just a fluke season?

Agreed that because the other 4 teams battling for spots 5-8 are playing solid hockey, the Kings better come through these next two weeks.

This game on Friday night might be for all the marbles.

This next game scares me. They need to win against Arizona.

They probably can get in with 98 points. Seven more points. That's at least a 3-1-1 record.

Arizona
@ Staples Center South
Colorado
Minnesota
Dallas

Clearly, Arizona must perish.

definitely  not a team to sleep on

quick has to get both starts in the back to back

On the optimistic side, except the game against the Ducks where the Kings are on the 2nd game of a back to back, all their opponents will be on their 2nd game of a back to back.
