Wow if your neighbor owns a company and tells you it's going to be bought out, and you go buy the stock it's a crime...? That would be hard to resist.

Not greedy, just not so bright.  If he did the same thing on Wall Street he would be be considered a genius and rewarded with bonuses and raises.

I can not think of anyone working on wall street going to jail for insider trading-but that does not mean it does not happen.  I would guess that if it did happen, it would be in the news because it would be a big deal.

A former Wall Street investment banker was sentenced to three years in prison on Friday after he was convicted of engaging in insider trading by repeatedly tipping his father off to unannounced healthcare mergers.

Sean Stewart, who worked at Perella Weinberg Partners and JPMorgan Chase & Co, was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Laura Taylor Swain in Manhattan, who called his conduct "outrageous.

maybe this is karma for his horrible at bat in the bottom of the 9th in game 5 in '86, when a simple sack fly would have put us in the world series.

He was a childhood favorite of mine along with Downing. Incredibly disappointed to see this I hope that he sees the error of his ways. We all make mistakes and bad decisions in life, some more than others and some larger than others.
