David Marcus: San Francisco is even worse than we knew and Newsom needs to answer for it

David Marcus: San Francisco is even worse than we knew and Newsom needs to answer for it

It’s worse than you thought in San Francisco. It was 2:30 in the afternoon and there was no legitimate business going on in the streets, even the wide thoroughfares. Not a guy delivering a pizza, not a few friends at a lingering lunch, no shopping bags, not any new ones anyway.

The Tenderloin district of San Francisco was just entirely overrun by the homeless, more accurately by people who appeared to be addicts or mentally ill.

There was no thronging mass to cover them, they were not straggling exceptions to well-run city blocks, they were the city blocks. Even the blocks, and there were many, that boasted the kind of new high end apartment buildings that are swanky back East. This is a place of total surrender, you can smell it, as well as other things, in the atmosphere. I was prepared for a rough scene, but holy hell, this beat the band.

What little legal commerce there is here is mainly confined to fast food, liquor stores, little convenience spots and an abundance of marijuana shops. But it’s perfectly obvious, between shouted offers and glancing quick exchanges that illicit deals are everywhere. Even along the soul-crushing lines of tents on what should be nice sidewalks, and among the long lost folk beneath their tarps. All of the street moves slow like it has no place to be.

What was not plentiful on the corners of the Tenderloin were police. In my afternoon wander I saw exactly one squad car that seemed on its way somewhere else, and no cops on foot. In fact, beyond a lone man in a bright shirt picking up trash there seemed to be no semblance of city governance in this place at all. It felt left alone, to its own devices and its devices are pretty awful.

GOP erupts over $200M ‘giveaway’ to Dem leader in liberal spending splurge

House Republicans tried in vain Thursday to block a proposed $200 million allotment for improvements to a park in House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s San Francisco district.

The money would be part of a $3.5 trillion budget reconciliation bill currently being debated on Capitol Hill.

GOP lawmakers proposed a half-dozen amendments to divert the $200 million to other needs but each Republican proposal was defeated by the Democrat-majority House, the Washington Times reported.

One Democrat, U.S. Rep. Steve Cohen of Tennessee, defended the allocation for the Presidio, the 1,500-acre park and golf course near the Golden Gate Bridge, claiming Pelosi deserves the money for her hometown because of the hard work she undertakes as speaker, the report said.

"If it weren’t for her working 24/7, and she does, to keep this place going, we wouldn’t be going," Cohen said, according to the Times. "She does more for America than any other member, I would submit in this Congress, times 10. So I support the proposal."

U.S. Rep. Tom Tiffany, R-Wis., said Democrat Cohen’s remarks were revealing.

"It fully takes the mask off what this is all about," Tiffany told the Times. "This is a Pelosi payoff. This is where somebody puts themselves before their office."

Lol, she's a joke and they want to praise her

California liberals advance prostitution bill that opponents fear will empower sex traffickers

California lawmakers on Friday advanced a bill that would decriminalize loitering with the intent to work as a prostitute, with supporters claiming the current law unfairly targets minorities, according to reports.

The controversial bill will be sent to the governor's desk in January. (California voters head to the polls Tuesday to decide whether to recall Gov. Gavin Newsom).

While proponents of the bill say minorities and transgender people are often singled out in disproportionate numbers by the loitering law based on the way they’re dressed, opponents claim the proposal would take away a tool from law enforcement to help sex trafficking victims.

So they are standing on the corner or walking the streets in known areas and feel they are being singled out?

They just need to make it legal.  So instead of the pimps stealing all their money, the state steals all their money in the form of taxes.  Just like the weed.

Legalizing it will do nothing for the human trafficking side of it. Just like the legalization of weed has not stopped the illegal activity.

When you tax it the amount they are taxing it, it's still cheaper to buy it illegally by a wide margin.  So yeah, it's not going to stop.  Just my point that those that want to go legal have to pay so much to the government that they are at a competitive disadvantage.

Companies are rapidly leaving California in 2021, Stanford researchers find

https://www.kron4.com/news/california/companies-are-rapidly-leaving-california-in-2021-stanford-researchers-find/

SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — California-based companies are moving out of the state at an accelerating rate this year, a report by the Hoover Institution at Stanford University found.

The report published in August 2021 said California already lost a total of 74 headquarters just in the first six months of the year.

Compare that to the total of 62 known companies that relocated in the entirety of 2020 – the Hoover Institution calls it a ‘serious loss.’

The report cited a 2021 survey by Chief Executive magazine, in which CEOs in the U.S. revealed what they value most when choosing a site for their headquarters, respectively:

Tax policy
Regulatory climate
Talent availability

Texas ranked as the absolute best for business, and California ranked as the absolute worst for business out of all 50 states in this CEO survey.

Great job Newsom supporters. Way to choose the wrong man for the job. After fucking over the State with Moon Beam Browne and his crazy fucking train you A-Holes pick another loser. Just keep voting D on the ballot because it is the State's overall score and the only thing propping it up from an F is the climate, something you have no control over.
