Pujols playing through messed up legs - has plantar fasciitis again

Ask Mike Trout to evaluate the season Albert Pujols has had, and he looks past the numbers to something that few outside the Angels clubhouse can truly comprehend.

“Obviously, he’s banged up,” Trout said. “But he keeps pushing to the end. He goes out there every day. He could easily shut it down. He’s got messed up legs, but he comes in and works hard and tries to be on the field with us, and that’s all you could ask for.”

Not even having him DH more can save his legs from exploding by midseason it seems

#Angels DH Albert Pujols has been dealing with plantar fasciitis in R foot for few weeks. Had in L foot in 2013.

He's a good guy and it's not like he's to blame for this abortion of a season. That being said, you know St. Louis breathes a deep sigh of relief every year. I mean look at these stats before and after the trade. Would you just look at them?

Not a surprise...this season is basically a carbon copy of his plantar fasciitis injury-plagued 2013.  I think a .750-ish OPS is going to be the norm the next few seasons

Trout has 84 RBIs what are his chances of reaching 100? I saw some where in an article today that Albert was on pace to hit 125 RBIs is that likely?

Last year everyone talked about his average with RISP when he sucked. This year no one talks about it when he's been awesome. Guess I know what our board focuses on lol

Proof, in case any more was needed, of the irrelevance of RISP stats. It was silly to bash him for his RISP numbers last year, just as it doesn't make sense to lavish extra praise on him because of it this year.

After a slow start, Pujols is actually having a decent season.  Is he overpaid?  Of course, but he is actually being pretty dang productive for this team.

What?  Of course it is relevant.  Imagine how many more losses the Angels would most likely have if he was getting hits with runners on base and driving in those runs?

Albert's legs will never be completely healthy for an entire season.  He could stand to lose 20lbs and see if it helps.
