Why trade Shoe for a young arm when you know what he can do and is still controllable for 4 more years. I would consider trading Santiago for a high upside starter but not for any less. It might be prudent to really beef up the bullpen considering the paucity of quality starters available in free agency.

Richards was an easy call on Tommy John he came in way to hot throwing over 100 in debut of spring that's on the coaching. The rest I don't know there's something wrong with our medical staff, training or something. Skaggs still isn't back to mlb and Wilson couldn't heal, Richards gone, Trop gone and Heaney gone that's not a great grade on this teams training or medical staff. Could it be all bad luck or is it something else entirely that could have been prevented?

Maybe they should trade Shoe before he suffers from exhaustion or shoulder fatigue or bleeding from his...wherever...

Would have been a good time to call up Newcomb...oh wait

He's not been having a lot of success getting AA hitters out of late.    But sure, tell yourself he could possibly make a difference.

And in case you're wondering -- Chris Ellis has been a disaster in AAA.

The list of Angels that have had Tommy John surgery. You can see how the incidences have skyrocketed over the last few years. Highlighted are the players you have seen in the big leagues, a lot of minor leaguers have been under the knife but most you don't hear about.
