Tossed Salad needs to go.

Mahle needs to return to SLC for another year.

Eppler has been fine in his short time so far.   He needs to find some relievers now!  And please don't re-sign Smith.   His decline has begun.

just a couple of weeks ago this board was demanding Salas be our new closer.

Bullpens are not meant to be overexposed like this.  The problem starts with starters who don't go deep enough.  Yes we could stand an infusion of bullpen talent, but the ultimate fix comes when we have better starters.

That isn't helping but the biggest problem with the bullpen is that all but maybe two of them really suck.

Can't blame the performance on injury either, bullpen's basically entirely healthy. And who would've thought, Bedrosian is the most reliable guy right now alongside Street when he's healthy. Morin's been a disappointment, Alvarez and Mahle are "meh", Smith and Salas are upcoming free agents and should be left to walk, and the rest of the pen are basically the Salt Lake City Bees' bullpen. The entire pitching staff, along with a chunk of the lineup, will need help in the offseason.

there were several supporting the idea.  may not be you but yhere were several.  not one.

That's possible.

But I'm sure you know "supporting the idea" doesn't equal "demanding it to happen".

Our pen has the 13th most IP so far this season.  The astros and royals have the 3rd and 9th most, and the orioles are 14th and are among the 3 better pens in baseball.

The overexposure effect hasn't even begun yet.  Fatigue will happen later in the season and it's only gonna get worse.  They have the 3rd lowest K rate,  and the 7th lowest BABIP.  Which probably means the are actually performing better than they should be.

Talent is talent and our bullpen doesn't have much.

If we were relying on our starters to minimize our bullpen exposure then they are thinking about how to construct the pen all wrong.  We had  one legit 200 inning guy on the roster (Richards).  Our #2 had 140 ip for his career (Heaney).  Our #3 hadn't ever pitched more than 180 innings (Santiago).  The 4th a 5th spot candidates were two guys coming off seasons of 159 and 134ip, a guy who had elbow surgery, and a rookie.

The pen should have been constructed to take the pressure off our starters.  Not the other way around.
