Does This Convince Moreno To Allow For A Rebuild?

What we, the fanatic, thinks should have no bearing on what Arte does.   He should be committed to building a winner, whether that's through free agency or the farm.  But if you completely ignore one, then stop doing the other, well you look incompetent.

Strad, we are the less than 1% of the worldwide Angels fans that give a sh*t. Most of the fans at the stadium are casual fans that love Mike Trout and can give a hoot about the standings. Arte knows that.

Maybe the Angels are a good candidate team to try the approach of focusing in on acquiring pitchers who can go three innings at a time.  Instead of focusing on starters who go deep into games, focus on bullpen arms who can be put into combinations of three pitchers to do three inning stints only.  Might make for less risk for awhile of losing more pitchers if we keep the pitches per pitcher down to something less than say 60 pitches per game.  It's pretty complicated to manage, but it seems I remember teams discussing this approach earlier in the year.  We are virtually there now as we don't have any starters left who can go over six innings.

Can the Guggenheim group own two baseball teams at once?

It's really a waste of time speculating about potential rebuilds with the same keystone captains at the helm. But Anaheim is a Disney town, not a baseball town, and personal connections are obviously more important than division and world series titles. The fact that this team has had the same manager for 16 plus years speaks volumes about it's actual willingness to "rebuild"..

Anaheim is a baseball town if it draws 3 million fans annually.

I'm looking for the Angels to formulate a plan to get back to 2002-2009 and beyond.

If it takes a few years, so be it.  But give a fan base that has really stepped up to the plate the same commitment.

Arte, your move.

Rofl.

How many of those "fans" cheer for other players except Trout? Wait, how many of those "fans" actually stand up before reading the 'make some noise' and rally monkey screens?

Again, Anaheim isn't a baseball town. Arte already made his move, and it was from the back of his yacht.

The Angels didn't have three consecutive winning seasons until Year 46.  They had 6 winning seasons in a row from 2004-2009, which is the only consistency they have ever had in this, the 56th year.  Not one player went to the HOF in an Angel cap. They also don't have cult status as loveable losers like the Cubs.

Considering the total franchise body of work, the fans have rocked and the franchise has sucked.

9 consecutive years of 3 million tickets sold is just remarkable.

No fan base deserves a team, and another championship than do Angel fans.

Psssst, hey! Yeah, you. Over here! Can I score some of your drugs?

Josh, you don't play for us anymore, remember?

IMO the only way that we should trade Trout is if he goes to management and tells them that he wants out. Even in that case, it has to bring a tremendous haul of talent to pull the trigger on a deal.

Interesting.  What would a rotation look like with this model?
