Jan 21st, 2011 - Angels trade Mike Napoli/Juan Rivera to the Blue Jays for Vernon Wells and one of the worst contracts in the MLB at the time. If you look back and try to pin point where the franchise started to go off the rails, this is a good place to start. Supposedly, Angels got $5 mil (Ha!) back in the deal but nothing else but a broken down solo HR hitter and pop up artist with a penchant for diving into the left field porch after balls he had no shot at.
