I think the Scioscia doesn't rely on stats or believe in stats is the biggest AW FACT of all of them. Oh and by AW FACT I mean not really a fact but something people tell themselves on here to get a simple answer for a difficult question.

If only we could all see things as clearly as you Strad. Geez, overgeneralize much?

This thread should be in the spin forum. About as much will be accomplished.

Regardless, other than maybe 10 posters, aw posters are not black and white when it comes to Dipoto/Sosh. Most can see good and bad in both while liking one or the other more.

Its the few posters who refuse to yield and inch that bring the entertainment.

Pretty much sums it up for me. Well said.

He's kinda right though. Maybe a bit hyperbolic, but not incorrect.

We're all guilty of hearing something and assuming it's fact at one point or another, regardless of where it has come from.

You guys are missing the point. Jerry went into the club house with his "nerd stat boner". Scioscia, Butcher, and Pujols ran him out on a rail and the team when on a hot streak. Obviously you can't bounce the GM every time you need some mojo, so they hire a couple of expendable math dorks and whenever things are looking flat on the field they invite them in to give a PowerPoint on FIP and defensive WAR and blow spit balls at them, give them swirlies, and chase them out of the clubhouse. They feel invigorated having pummeled some pencil-necked geeks and take it to the field.

It's the "ostrich maneuver", classic Scioscia.

A hot streak, followed by some of the worst baseball this franchise has seen
