Summer there is only a few months, so yeah. The season is more like just a few weeks.

In summer the locals are out and about outdoors fishing, camping, and other things.. after a dark 8 month winter.

Basically it's tourists and retired folks and families with kids that go to the baseball games.

It's an advanced amateur league for mostly college players, but lots of top players come up there for the experience. They don't get paid, but they get treated really well with top notch accommodations, travel, meals, etc

Davanon is easy to pick on but he was pretty solid for the Angels. Hell, I'd take him on this team right now. Would be a great 4th OF.

I have nothing against JD, he had some nice games and clutch hits in his time, but really..If Grant Green got the same kind of manager-boy-love that JD got, we would feel the same way about GG.

Thanks for the summary on the Alaska League, I never knew much about it. Sounds like a fun experience for the players who have done it.
