You know Murphy would love to be in there against his old team too. I've always been a Scioscia supporter, but the entire season is on the line and you have to put your best possible lineup out there. As evidenced by yesterday's bullpen performance, we need to score as many runs as possible. Especially in Arlington.

I can only imagine the damage Napoli and Hamilton will inflict these last 4 games.

 

Yeah, common sense would tell you that you play the guys against their former teams. For whatever reason, they usually step up. Not Scioscia though. He has to do the left/righty thing. So annoying.

Then add taking Giavotella out early last night and then pinch hitting Cowgill of all people. He's starting to wear me thin.

I'm not one to complain too much. But I have to agree that not having Murphy in the lineup is disturbing. I can see Murphy being a lethal bat off the bench late. But then again, with Murphy in the lineup the Angels may not have to pinch hit.

I think #soshmetrics covers more of his poor managerial decisions beyond the contact play etc, like sitting Murphy because of his L/R moves.
