"In an annual ESPN survey of Major League Baseball executives, scouts, coaches and analysts, Scioscia was ranked the sixth-best overall manager, as well as the second-best tactician and third-best leader in the American League."'

Proof readers must be in short supply at the LA Times, and at the Register.  Or maybe no one does that anymore, if it gets by the computer spell checker it must be okay.

Oh, and would it be too much to ask to see the full list?  Or, if the don't want to rub it in to the bottom dwellers, at least show the top 5 or 10.

Thanks for the reference Lou.  While I was searching I also found this list of the top GM's by Sporting News.  Dipoto was ranked at 27 out of 30.

Ned Coletti was #10 on that list. What a joke.

That's ridiculous to ask people to rank a list of 30 managers, GM's, whatever, and expect it to have any meaningful value.  I can barely keep track of 2-3 MLB teams at one time.  How would MLB execs focused 40, 60, 80 hours a week on their own teams be able to accurately rank this?

You can bet it's a name recognition popularity contest, with the good old boys voting for the good old boys.

In the time he has been here, Dipoto has improved our ranking of overall organization talent from 30th to 28th!! Give him a 10 year contract and let him get us into the top 20.

Lol! That has to be one of the worst lists I've ever seen. Cherington, Colletti, Cashman, Daniels and Wren in the top 10, while guys like Huntington, Luhnow and Hoyer aren't? What a joke Edited by SoWhat

That was from May of 2104. Still, why the **** would Luhnow and Hoyer be included in the top 10? It must be tough to tank for a decade and hoard first-round picks.
