DiPoto absolutely failed this offseason...there is no argument against it. Staff decimated, pen not upgraded, gutted the only leader on the team, traded away valuable prospects late last year...what am I missing?

 

 

For the dozenth time, it's Dipoto, not DiPoto. 

 

But yeah.  I had high hopes for him but this offseason, as it looks now, was terrible.

He has done terrible the past 2 seasons, absolutely atrocious(MAYBE except the ianetta trade)

I don't know about you guys, but I'm all vented out. I have absolutely no expectations for this year after this start. This is what I expect the rest of the year.

 

 

I would say that, but as soon as they win two in a row again - whenever that happens - I'll start to feel that hope rising up again.  I should know better. 

 

On the plus side, this start is making my offseason decision to not go to any games this year seem brilliant.

I could care less about the spelling of his name, his carelessness when crafting a club is what worries me. We are not in a good situation in so many ways, this hole he is digging will take years and years to climb out of

Yeah, this isn't looking too good right now. They have zero depth in their farm when it comes to arms(starters AND relievers) and the current crop doesn't look like much. They are in serious trouble if these guys don't turn it around. They don't have the pieces to trade for any help anymore, so this is the crop they have to work with

 

Jepsen turning back into crap would be a huge, huge blow to the pen, and we still have no clue how effective Madson will be when he returns.

MS manages every game like a one run game. Gets afraid of one run, and allows the big inning.

Like the other game where he was afraid of the steal and allowed the HR.

This offense can come back from 2-3 run deficits, but he doesn't realize it.

He belongs in the NL.

It will take us at least breaking 500 - as a FRANCHISE - for me to let myself believe* in this team again**

 

 

*the first time we go 10 games above 500 means the Angels will be a winning franchise since their inroduction into MLB

A's completely destroyed the Halos in this series....in all facets. What a statement by the defending AL West champs. Halos don't even look like they are in the same league as these guys
