Of course they don't list the names.  But sounds like Knights might be out.

Interestingly.  I was looking up domains, regarding the Lasvegasnighthawks.  Looked up LasVegasAces.  Registered in 2002, to MGM.  So that might not be out yet either.

Of course, as I pointed out.  LasVegasAces is owned by MGM, so that might be the fourth name still.

Creative.  As i've seen pointed out elsewhere, the nhl already has a 'hawks.  You would think they could find something original.  Ive read that the black knights idea actually got pushback.

Maybe they could go with Blue Wings.  Or possibly something like Red Jackets.

According to an article in today's Review-Journal, the team has registered three possible names, and two more will be registered soon. The registered names are:

Red Hawks (seems too close to Red Wings to me)

Nighthawks

Desert Hawks

While I like Nighthawks.  All three names are too close to Red Wings and Blackhawks.

Yes, they're at Nellis AFB. No idea whether there are any copyright issues with the name, which is what kept Foley from using the name Black Knights.

Bill Foley says that this isn't so, and that Nighthawks is still under consideration.

Night Hawks is ok but the F-117 were never actually flown out of Vegas. They went from Tonopah to New Mexico. If I was to choose a name to honor the Nellis connection it would be Vipers or Warthogs.

The Review-Journal is reporting that three different internet domain names associated with the name Desert Hawks have been registered by the team ownership group.

Not sure I like Desert Knights.  It's going to be a butchered name, just adding one s.  Although Dessert does sound good right now.  And you still have the other Knights.

And I don't know if Desert Knights has an international feel to it.  And I don't know if Desert Knights fits this.

I'm still hoping for Aces, that does fit that description from Foley.  Or Warthogs.  Ok, maybe Warthogs first.
