Rumblings: Las Vegas will get a head start on free agency

Newest wrinkle.  Vegas gets a 2 week head start on FA'cy.  If a team has an UFA, or RFA, Vegas can negotiate with them as long as they are not on the protected list.  If Vegas signs the UFA/RFA, then that counts as that teams pick by Vegas. 

In the Ducks case, it would be sweet if Vegas signs UFA Bernier.  In the Kings case, Toffoli and Pearson stand out as RFA's.  But I'm sure they would be protected.

yeah, no way they let toffoli walk away. pretty sure they'd want to keep pearson, too. two good young players to build around.

The year that they did this, there was also an outdoor game to be played in North Carolina, also between the Kings and Rangers. It was cancelled due to poor ice, but ticket sales were incredible. This propelled NC to get their expansion team.

I wonder if the league was putting out feelers back then for the Vegas expansion as well? Tickets sold well, and the ice held up, so it was a success.
