Outside of the first week of the season, when they were all hitting well but the pitching sucked, have these three all hit well at the same time since the beginning of 2013?

 

Seems that we are LONGGGG overdue for these three to all produce at the same time!

The three of them are a combined 36-153 since the All Star break (good for a .235 average) with two home runs and 13 XBH. Safe to say you need more than that from the heart of your order.

Trout not getting protection from the two overpaid prima donnas hitting behind him just might have something to do with his slump. Hard to rake when pitchers give you crap. They pitch around him with impunity because they know they have Bob Uecker Jr. and III hitting behind Trout. Why give him a few more good pitches to hit when you have automatic outs right behind him?

Ed, sorry buddy but you're wrong. Right now Trout is just missing the ball. Between that and him playing umpire, where he takes a ton of called strikes, that's the reason, they aren't pitching around him. Here's hoping his two hits tonight gets him going.

Trout hasn't been getting crap pitches. He's been watching plenty of pitches right down the middle during this stretch. Guy is on a cold streak, it happens to all players.

 

I can't believe how many first-pitch strikes right down the middle he's been looking at.

 

The book is easy on him now. He needs to pounce on those fat fastballs or he's going to be behind in every count.

It's a balance with Trout's discipline.

He likes to read the pitchers, but at the same time it doesn't hurt to swing at the first pitch if the pitcher is showing solid control and the pitch is what he's expecting.

The difference is that by the time those guys were around, the Angels had incredible lineups filled with  guys like Carew, Grich, DeCinces, Downing, Lynn, Ford, Baylor, Jackson, Lansford etc...
