Trout/Pujols/Hamilton

Okay, fair enough, all things about Hamilton stay in here, except for the GDT. 

I see constant bumping in this thread's future.

 

Is it too much though to ask for Pujols and Hamilton to hit well at the same time?

Outside of the first week or so of 2014, they haven't done so since the beginning of 2013.

Not what you expect from 2 players with an AAV of about $50 million between them

Trout went 0-fer last night again, just like Pujols and Hamilton. A little disingenuous to point at only two of the three moto bats for suckage

Point taken, Trout and Pujols have hit well at the same time a lot though going back to May 2012 (aside from the 2013 struggles for Pujols).

Trout will come out of it, too much skill & youth on his side.  Those other two OLD, overpaid, contented guys...unlikely either one will ever again hit with consistency.  Pujols has become a GIDP machine while Hamilton is too often a strikeout walking to the plate.

Pretty rough what $25M buys nowadays. Vernon Wells who is only making $18M from the halos actually improved his golf handicap 2 strokes since the start of the season.

Putting these guys 2, 3 & 4 has never really clicked. I can't remember one time when they were all seemed to be hot at the same time for any stretch. Of course, the idea of shaking things up will never happen because I'm pretty sure Albert's contract must stipulate that either he's put in the 3rd spot in the lineup or he sits.

Since the beginning of 2013, Ghost Pujols/HamilWhiffATon has around a .765 OPS collectively.

This season, it isn't much better than a year ago (.780 vs. .750).

 

Since the ASB: .675 OPS collectively

 

$50 AAV between two players clearly gets nowhere nears what it should.

Today's tidbit on one of the trio:

 

Brett Gardner has a higher OPS than Pujols (.811 vs. .801).

Brett freaking Gardner!!!!

 

What was that about Pujols being significantly better than he was a year ago?

Maybe in the field, but at the plate a lousy .034 better OPS wise
