Uh oh...Iraq

that makes two american reporters. i'm wondering why we aren't bombing them into oblivion at this point.

They're all over the place. You can't bomb entire countries into oblivion. There will have to be ground troops at some point and a massive offensive to defeat these maniacs, who are well-organized and equipped. We're talking hundreds of thousands of troops in Iraq and Syria. It will never happen, of course, for political reasons.

By the way, ISIS is an enemy of Assad in Syria, whom we also are trying to undermine. So in effect, we're on their side by default. The whole thing is so messed up, it's not even funny.

Point was it is pretty hypocritical to bomb the crap out of ISIS for killing two Americans and then tell Israel to not bomb Hamas for killing three teens and daily lobbing rockets into Israel.

Regardless, U.S. will do whatever it wants while trying to get every other country in the world to act better than that.

Right now the issue in Israel is annexing more land to build more settlements that is cutting into Palestinian territory. The Palestinians can create more people to be bombed but have limited real estate. The US is condemning Israel not for shooting suspected Hamas but stealing land.

Isn't there a thread for this subject?  I wasn't even talking about the U.S. condemning Israel for the land grab (I agree with that criticism).  I was referring to the U.S. continually telling Israel to slow done, tone down, stop it's actions with Hamas.

Hard to do that when we keep telling the Israelis to tone down their responses.

i thought maybe you were going to go in the direction of "it's hard to give military orders when you're putting on the back 9 with deep pocketed donors."

Kind of amazing they don't do it themselves. It is as if the entire Arab world has a terrorism addiction it can't quit.

They've been killing themselves since forever. I say it's high time we left that shithole to its own demise.

As for the journalists, ya it's sad but it's what goes on in that part of the world and those guys knew what they were getting into. Hell, Foley had already been held in Libya against his will and instead of thanking his lucky stars he was alive he went right back into the danger zone.

that's the big hang up, how do we conduct airstrikes in Syria without empowering Assad?

Anywhere Christians are being exterminated, you can bet that USA has a hand in funding it. It began during World War 2 and hasn't ceased since.

What if we "accidentally" airstrike Assad and then throw out a big OOPS. Two birds...one tomahawk...

Assad protects Christians and minority muslims, why would we want to toss him out of power, besides the obvious reason that the USA has a thirst for seeing all historic Christendom destroyed and erased from existence?

ISIS has reportedly beheaded another american journalist today in retaliation for obama's continued bombing raids.

the people at CAIR came out publicly against ISIS and described what they're doing in the name of allah as barbaric. glad to see them in front of a mic on this.
