What really pisses me off is the lack of urgency by Scioscia -- YET AGAIN -- when the last few years have shown the first two months make or break the Angels' playoff chances. 

 

Yes, it's only game one, but we can't be throwing away potential wins like this.

Mike doing a poor job with the pen in game #1. Jepsen has been TERRIBLE vs LH batters for years and he leaves him in to face so many of them when he has Maronde in the pen? WTF

 

and I don't care what people want to think, Weaver was done after 5 2/3.  To bring him back out after they get the guy at the plate in the previous inning is just brutal. 

 

Don't forget the unearned run.

 

All we are missing is a double play and a baserunning error.

how much of this is the bullpen and how much is it Scioscia's management of the bullpen?  He seems like the last guy to pick up on patterns.

Why is he pitching Kohn and Jepsen on opening night anyhow?

You have Smith and Frieri and you are only down by 2.....so let's see how long Jepsen can go..until he gives up a 3 run homer.

Nothing Scioscia does during games suggests above average baseball intelligence.  This has been a problem for years.
