I didn't see Pujols's first AB, but that last one looked like he was purposely trying to go the other way.  Was the first opposite field hit similar?   

 

If so, I wonder if this is part of his "I don't need to be superman" plan.  Trying to spray more doubles rather than rolling over pitches to third while trying to pull a HR.

Skaggs didn't pitch as bad as his line looks.   He did however look like what he is, a young guy that will at times leave stuff up and miss his spots.   The HR he gave up doesn't get out of Anaheim.
