Why not take a chance on Eric O'Flaherty? I know we haven't had luck with injured pitchers but if a deal is right, he could be one of the best moves in the off-season. I'll take secret option C, Tanaka/O'Flaherty

He probably won't be ready until some time around the All Star break.

I would have preferred going in and getting "The Beard" before the Dogs did.

I feel that the FO was asleep at the wheel on that one.

Wilson signed for absurd money. It will turnbout to be one of the worst contracts given out this offseason. Benoit and Balfour - both just as good or better than Wilson and without the recent (and second) TJ surgery - got or will get far less.

Pretty sure Benoit signed a deal with the Padres, or was close to signing late last month.

You're right about Benoit, but I think his "got far less" referred to Benoit and his  "will get far less" referred to Balfour.

Benoit, a 36-year-old right-hander, will earn a guaranteed $15.5 million over the next two seasons -- $6 million in 2014 and $8 million in '15. The deal also includes an $8 million option for '16 -- which will kick in if Benoit finishes 55 or more games in '15 -- or a $1.5 million buyout.
