"Amazing"

Its my pet peeve word.  Every other person in Hollywood is described as "amazing".  That restaurant is "amazing".  The dessert was "amazing".  This tv show is "amazing".  Everybody's kid or grandkid on social media does something "amazing".

We're like Lake Wobegon, where every child is above average.  So many things are described as "amazing".... they can't all be amazing.

Anybody else hear that word a lot?

The two that get on my nerves a bit on:

Really?? - You say something clever and cutting to someone and their response is "Really?", like they are buying themselves to think of a something - anything - to come back with to counter your "attack".  Usually, though, it ends with "Really?"...

Just sayin' - Someone makes an A-hole remark to you and they realize they may have, perhaps, crossed a line.  Two possible options seem to exists - 1) apologize and go on with the conversation 2) Own that A-hole remark with a "Just sayin'", like they dropped some important, universal truth on you about yourself.  This is the less passive agressive brother of the phrase "just kidding".
