Guessing Roberts wouldn't let this happen.

I'm fully expecting Roberts to save Obamacare in the end. Kavanaugh may join him, who knows...

5-4 or 6-3 decision to preserve the ACA. It's chaos otherwise for many millions of Americans. We're stuck with the damn thing at this point.

The Hospital he's going to is one of the top hernia treatment centers in the world.

He's also paying out of pocket.

What point are you making?

I wasn't making a point. Just thought it was interesting that he was going to a place with socialized medicine to get a procedure done.

Are you guys saying that this hernia clinic in Canada is the best in the world despite Canada's single-payer system? That's usually one of the arguments against single-payer: it impedes progress and keeps the best doctors from practicing because there's less of an incentive. Rand Paul has been very outspoken against single-payer healthcare, yet he's paying for the services of a clinic that is privately operated but publicly funded in a country that has socialized medicine.

That is quite an outlier you are using

Lol at people even comparing what a rich person does as even in the realm of possiblity for health care.  Might as well cry for Kimmel's kid for being saved and showing that healthcare works.  When he has A+ insurance for him and his family and went to more than likely Cedar Sinai and could go to any top doctor in the country.

Actually he is paying out of his neighbors pocket due to the settlement. Which is about as close to socialized healthcare as it gets.

It's a privately owned hospital that will take on Canadian health care patients but is not required to nor does it subsist off of public funds. So you've missed the mark trying to nail Paul on his politics. He probably got his appointment 6 months to a year ahead of residents trying to utilize the single payer system.

this hospital was built and developed it's reputation under the private system and was grandfathered in. No way it does that under their current system. So this actually supports Paul's opinion that medicine under the private and for profit system will deliver better services.

Actually it was Keck Medicine of USC.

I’m distantly related to the doctor who performed the surgery and my dad pretty much owes his life to him.
