WTF is with this bleeping weather?

Recommended Posts

my nephew is getting married in bakersfield sunday afternoon. i have to drive up for it (and also to pick up my wife who's been up there all week helping her sister). supposed to have rain all day for an outdoor wedding, and the grapevine has a forecast for snow most of the day. i'm very concerned about getting through.

14 to the 58. If there's snow forecast for the grapevine it's better to just go that way rather than get stuck at the top waiting for escorts.

I bet it's too late and you're already traveling

I bet it's too late and you're already traveling stuck in traffic.  Freezing your balls off.  And cursing at @Angel Oracle

Fixed.

We decided to stay in Bakersfield for night and will drive home in the morning

Wedding was beautiful. Perfectly dry throughout until the reception when it hailed like nobody’s business. Thunder, lightning, blue skies, clouds, and hail all in about the span of 60 minutes. But all went well.

I assume if there is snow in Vegas, there would be snow in St. George, so I’m not sure you’re correct.  Plus in St. George you can eat Culver's, too.

One thing we can agree on is there is no INO in Wisconsin.

I didn't know Utah had INO. I stand corrected.

Who would choose to live in Wisconsin, anyway?

I've seen it snow in Vegas, was probably around 1990. I'll never forget walking out of a casino downtown to see huge white flakes coming down. Tried to get home to the OC and the Cajon Pass was closed...turned back to Vegas. The snow on the Yuccas and Joshuas in the Victorville area. Whiteout conditions. Very surreal.

Went to Grand Canyon West yesterday.

Snowed going up the pass to Golden Valley from Bullhead City. Snowed a lot going up 93 north toward the Dolan Springs turn off. Had to wait until after 12 to take the bus to the actual canyon because it was zero visibility.  By the time we got there the clouds were lifting and we got to see the Canyon with snow dusted on the sides and the background mountain covered with snow. It was surreal and beautiful. Very cold though. Well, cold for us, 28. Good thing we bundled up.

We did not go on the Skywalk that is a glass extension with a clear bottom to it. It doesn't go out very far and we had a clear view any ways.

This is a test of the emergency broadcast system.  If this had been an actual emergency, we'd all be on an ark right now, watching @Angel Oracle disappear on the last piece of land left.  Because this is all his fault.

Bring on the Sun and global warming.

more rain in the forecast for next monday.

my daughter and i are going to a taping of america's got talent tonight in pasadena. should be fun standing in the rain for 90+ minutes with nowhere to sit.
