Today was terrific! I read a book, curled up next to the fireplace, with a cup of hot cocoa while wearing a snuggie.

Had to tell kids at school to take off their fleece jackets while playing at lunch time. Wish I was kidding, but there were at least a dozen kids all bundled up like they were bracing for a winter storm.

It's definitely more than just a temperature thing for some. Wish I could help them.

No kidding. I come from a part of the country where mildew grows on the outside of your house.

I arrived in California with my family on July 31, 1972. The temperature that day was 100, still a record high for that date. But the humidity was about 20%.

We were complaining all the way to the hotel, and my dad finally said "Shut up, it's a dry heat!"
