I have to say, in my 47 years since moving to southern California that was the heaviest concentrated downpour I can recall. About 12:45 am was the worst. Thankfully it didn't last long or my home would have floated away.

It has been in the 40s here, rain three times in the past week, I-15 closed at the state line going into California due to snow on the California side. The mountains here have had so much snow that you can't go up without snow tires or tire chains.
