Shohei Ohtani signs with the Dodgers (10 years, $700 million)

If you are concerned about losing Ohtani, research how many pitchers recover from a second TJ surgery.

Then ask yourself, would I pay anywhere nears $700 million with that factored in?

For teams, they are likely looking if they can profit from a player's worth, not from their play on the field necessarily.

Will the Dodgers get $700 million of worth from him as a player?  Seems incredibly unlikely, but I'm sure they'll rake in tons of profit from him from a marketing perspective, likely far more than that $700 million, thus making him a worthwhile "investment," so to speak.

You'd be surprised and not in  a good way.   And your opinions are usually vacant of worthwhile info or substance.

But your opinion of yourself is incredible.  Kudos

This probably applies to most of us on here really. I've never minded your posts, even when I disagree with them.

How can anyone be mad at Ohtani? Would you want to be a part of this mess of an organization? I hope he plays well and if the Dodgers win it all then I can be happy for him at least. Wish we’d let Trout go too so he can enjoy some success as well. Arte has ruined this franchise. Fuck him

We are really looking at the possibility that Trout is a lifelong Angel and never wins a single playoff game. That's incredible to me. God I hope Arte sells.

i believe the halos are worth a lot less now ! arte killed all of us not selling the team to that warriors owner that understands player development...

They been losers for a long time now so it’s a safe assumption.

I don’t think that is solid logic.  Failing to win and having winning be your primary goal can be very different.  Maybe just hasn’t been good at it. (Well not maybe)

In all honesty that was the only thing I thought would help us. That we would massively overpay and he'd never pitch again and we'd have another bad contract. It literally seemed like the "of course" way it would play out.

Again, I hope Ohtani gets 10 rings over there. But I also hope the Dodgers finally get "angeled" with a really bad contract.

It is crazy to think with shohei and Betts and Freeman, they have a monster star studded roster, but that those guys are going to get old all together at some point and cost 150 mill a year or something

Shohei Ohtani is gone, and the Angels have little but regret to show for it

https://theathletic.com/5106918/2023/12/09/shohei-ohtani-leaves-anaheim-angels/

The loss of Ohtani is an undeniable blow for the Angels. They’ve always enjoyed being relevant, even amid the losing. That was thanks to Ohtani, and to Trout, who has three MVPs of his own. Now, Ohtani is gone. And the 32-year-old Trout’s durability remains a question mark after three straight seasons with extended IL stints.

Arte you POS we should have traded that MF 2 years ago and even last year. Looking back he never was going to resign with us and if the NL had a DH 6 years ago he would have been a Dodger then

If that is accurate, they really should have traded him. Caminero is one of the top prospects out there. SMH
