Today's game @ Tigers rained out. Double-header tomorrow: Ohtani pitching game 1

Recommended Posts

Not good. With no off days it puts a strain on the pitching staff and more wear and tear on the players. The team can't afford to rest key players when seeking a sweep. Hopefully they get a big lead in the first game, pull some players and have them fresher for game two.

Regardless, they go into Toronto and have to play the next day. But maybe the Jay's will be affected by their long travel and time zone adjustments.

Two questions, if anyone knows the answer to them:

1. When a 27th man gets called up for a DH and subsequently gets sent down, does that count towards a player’s maximum of 5 options per season?

2. Can they recall anyone to be the 27th man, or does that player have to be 10/15 days removed from the last time they were optioned?

Sandy needs to go 7+ solid innings in an ideal world and pray the offense gives you some breathing room, if Silseth can give us 5-6 it would be icing on the cake.

really puts the bullpen in a tough spot in Toronto, but we need to focus on tomorrow first.

Luckily, Ohtani pitches Friday. Hopefully he can also go 7+ innings. That would take a lot of pressure off the pen.

Hopefully, today is some semblance of a rest day.
