I remember teams had 5 or 6 DH on the schedule. Always get tickets to those games. Get to park when gates opened and spend over 8 hours at ballpark.

It is a lot of time on the couch. Breakfast before first game lunch after game one then Earlybird dinner special after second game.

Doubleheaders are nothing to be feared. The Angels had Monday off. Now they have Wednesday off. The pitchers rested both of those days. And after the next two Thursdays, the have the following 5 Thursdays off.

As the sainted Mr. Banks used to say, "Let's play two!" But also let's sweep two.

If our coach tells us that our closer is not available because he warmed up the night prior, how are we as fans supposed to feel about our players playing 2 complete baseball games in one day?  

Our star players need an extra day of rest after flying across the country after having a day off the day before…

No wonder there is such concern.  There are probably some posters who can’t believe that there used to be somewhere around 4-5 doubleheaders a season, except @Angels 1961who used to play whiffle ball with Abner Doubleday.

I still prefer the Sunday day game with after game admission to Disneyland included.

You do realize Abner Doubleday did not invent baseball. I did like playing wiffle ball I had a very good sweeper.
