We were told it was a contusion. That's of the skin. Now it's a bone bruise which is deeper, and there's internal bleeding?! Wasn't any imaging done originally?

"...a few more weeks at least." Oh just let him rest and he'll be all healed up by next Spring.

It was obviously a bone bruise it was a foul ball off his shin.

Find a way to jettison this guy without eating too many millions.

I get that it's frustrating, particularly with his demeanor and attitude towards reporters, but internal bleeding is a very serious medical condition that can cause additional complications. Wish him the best of health and recovery.

It is.  It’s just odd that it takes 3 weeks to discover it, especially when the patient has complained that it was still sore.  Baffling.

It could have worsened over time but yeah, I get that frustration.

i think there's more evidence to question  what continues to go on behind the scenes with the angels organization that they never seem to diagnose an injury properly, especially as to severity. i notice nobody that calls players pussies ever backtracks once they find out their injury was misdiagnosed by the organization.

A bruise occurrs because of broken capillaries from a contusion.  It is often associated with swelling and discoloration.  

A broken blood vessel can from a contusion can easily be mistaken for a mere bruise.

I don’t know.  I don’t really give a shit about other teams and therefore couldn’t possibly be bothered to notice this type of thing.  But do other teams have players who are hurt as routinely misdiagnosed as the Angels apparently do? Like what the fuck is going on with the training staff?

With everything that has happened to Rendon since joining the Angels it will be a miracle if he ever plays most of a season healthy. As he ages it will also take longer to rehab and get in game shape. 

Third base actually hasn't been a big problem with the mix who have filled in. 

Ideally they find a way to work out a trade or settlement and move on.

I've said this before, but I just cannot imagine any realistic scenario in which Rendon would be traded, even if the Angels could get him to waive his no-trade clause.  He has 3 years and almost $120M left on his contract.  Angels would probably have to eat 80% of that and throw in Neto, O'Hoppe, or Quero, just to get the conversation started.

And there's no "settlement" allowed in baseball.  The only way the Angels can get off the hook would be if Rendon voluntarily retired.
