6-13 since the Rangers series, which is probably close to worst in the league over that span. Injuries or not there's no excuse for that

Looks like they are in a collective defeatist mindset. 

Was it Alan Alda in a Woody Allen movie who said something is funny if it bends, but not if it breaks.

Transpose it to the Angels. While they bent in recent weeks there still was hope that they could rebound. But with the injuries and slumps they are now broken. And it's sad watching each player basically going through the motions half heartedly once they fall behind. 

Even great leadership (which they don't seem to have) probably couldn't make much difference.

With so many injuries and poor pitching this is not a playoff team. I've been saying they have some nice young players to start building around. I hope at deadline Minasian can find some others. For Syndergarrd he got Moniak and this year Perry has many more to trade.

4.5 games out of the third WC spot isn’t insurmountable.

But they need to get enough players healthy STAT.

Starting with Moore, Neto, and Rendon after the ASB, and hopefully Drury shortly after that

I give Minasian and Arte props for this off season. They tried again to make a run at playoffs. Adding CE and Moore in BP was a big plus. Renfroe, Drury and Urshela for depth. Even to bring in Anderson for rotation. Some transactions have worked out and others not so well. O'Hoppe and Neto rapid rise seemed to solve  positions Angels needed help in. Disappointment in Walsh at 1B but halos had replacements for 1B. Injuries started early with O'Hoppe and that was huge. Injuries to Neto followed by Rendon, Urshela, Trout, Moore, Drury. Again, I give credit to Minasian going out and trading for Escobar and Moose. He tried to bridge the gap until some MI returned. Rengifo has not been player of last year and Fletcher did have 1 good game but he has not helped. Angels spiraling downward fans frustrated. Deadline is close so let's see what happens.

As for the first pitch swinging, that’s a good question. It may just be an over correction from last year, when the whole team was clearly too passive at the plate.

Wouldn't be surprised if we don't see Rendon until August. Poor baby says he's still very sore.

They aren’t finding success with that approach, and all it does is allow quick innings for the opposition and prevent them from getting deep into the opposing team’s bullpen.

It worked.  But what does it mean?  Does it mean they swing the 12th most often on 0-0 pitches?  Or when they swing at 0-0 pitches they have the 12th highest OBA.
