Teams that work counts are far more successful than going after every pitch early in counts. You are only extending the pitchers innings by creating these short plate appearences that net nothing if your talent can't hit like Vlad Guerrero. 

News flash, Vlad doesn't play baseball anymore, Kristen. Those days are over. So your your flail hard to fail is exactly what we've seen these first three innings. Is that the kind of baseball you like, 8 pitch innings by the opposing pitcher and no runners on base? Well, you are getting your money's worth tonight.

Maybe its just me, (on this thread), but I'd rather see a guy line out cuz he was up hacking on a first pitch fastball, than see a guy take until he has 2 strikes,  step out, adjust his jock, and then strike out on a curve ball in the dirt,
