Texas Rangers

Recommended Posts

We next face the Rangers in June for a 4 game set. I like the less-unbalanced schedule, as there is more drama in these division series. The NFL plays 6/17 against their own division, or 35%, MLB is now down to 54/162 or 32%, versus 78/162 or 48%.

Should they expand this will change again, but unless they go to 8 team divisions, this will go down further, but that's ok.

We play the Red Sox for 1, Marlins for 3, White Sox for 3, Houston for 4, Cubs for 3, and Sea for 3 before that Texas Set. 17 games...10 at home, 9 against teams at or under .500.

I really hope they go on a run right here before this Texas Series, something like 12-5, 13-4, etc.

Rangers have played 25 out of 48 games (52%) against under .500 teams so far, going 17-8.

Halos have played 20 out of 50 games (40%) against under .500 teams so far, going 14-6.

Rangers have had the easier schedule so far.

Not saying you're wrong, but this would imply that all teams under .500 are equal.

Without facing Ohtani or Sandoval.

Is this why they were outscored 27-9 in those last two games?

That's 16% of the Rangers current run differential in just two games.

It's kind of interesting to see what teams have played each other and who has been beating up on who...   Also, strange for it to almost be June and the Yankees and Red Sox have yet to play each other.

The Angels have played more than twice as many games against the AL East than some of our AL West competition.  The Detroit Tigers absolutely suck unless they are playing the NL Central.  Almost 25% of the Mariners wins are .vs the Athletics.  As bad as the A's have been they have a winning record .vs the Royals who have a losing record .vs everyone they have played.  Boston has a .500 or better record .vs 6 opponents, the Yankees 5.   The Twins have yet to play a lot of the better AL Teams -- man the Central is awful.

The old line about not jumping to conclusions until teams have played a series .vs everyone in their own league once is very much in play here.  So, while the new balanced schedule is definitely better than the old system, it's got it's quirks.

Have to remember that it was back when the pitching and defense were having implosions.

Things have changed for the better.

Look forward to the Halos playing against them next time.

Beating down the o’s 10-1…

how do they consistently score double digit runs?? Insane

Hitting .337 with runners in scoring position will do that. The Dodgers led MLB last season at .272. Astros in 2021 at .272

If they continue that, they're going to win the AL West no matter what their pitching does.

The Angels are 8th in MLB in RBI's this season. They're only 9 RBI's behind the Red Sox in 4th. So, they have definitely been an above average team this season at driving in runs.

The Angels' top spot in the batting order for driving in runs is the 6th spot with 37. The Rangers' lead off hitters have driven in 43 runs this season.

Another easy 5-0 win, granted it was against the Tigers.

Eovaldi pitching like Cy Young this year.

This is how the Angels should of done the Marlins...granted Miami is better, than the Tigers.

So true man. No way they are as good as their current 117 win Pythagorean win expectancy says.
