This is what a happens when you continually look for (and pay accordingly)  big names and don't focus on development and shrewd trades. 

No mid level depth. 

Players who grow together through the minors and into the majors are groomed according to team philosophy. If the system has good coaches you have players in sync and able to fill the ranks when ready.

The Angels are almost completely an amalgamation of disconnected players from different backgrounds. And few non pitchers from within the system have played together at other levels. 

Castoffs, projects, over the hill players make up a lot of the roster.

Dumbest team ever.  Why not have Mayfield bunt?  I don't understand why a team who hasn't scored runs in two games doesn't do everything they can to get a number other than 0 on the board.
