Ohtani may be off a bit this season but dude is all class!

He’s been a bit off, sure—but I think yesterday’s game could be a spark plug for him and the team.

And yeah he’s always been pure class. I was reading how he indirectly blamed himself for Maddon’s firing. He felt like Maddon would still be around if his previous two outings didn’t go so badly. He seemed pretty emotional, honestly. But, we need an expert to tell us what he really meant: @FromJapan

I am also not sure.

During the Nippon-Ham Fighters (NPB) era, Ohtani-san was constantly persuaded by the manager KURIYAMA as follows.
"Your Two-way is meaningless if you can't contribute to win the game and to get the championship."

Ohtani-san would have been shocked that Maddon, who was a good supporter of his Two-way, was fired in the middle of the season. He may have guessed that the instability of team management will also make his future unstable, including the possibility of trading to another team.

This does not sound ideal but it does make sense. I do think this will come into play when it’s time to sign an extension
