I read some signability concerns, I think.  Still .. wow.

It reminds me of when I found a $100 bill in a pair of jeans at a vintage thrift shop: Just completely unexpected.

I mean, I ranked him ahead of Marceaux in my pre-season prospects ranking, but still #23, and we collectively ranked him #24. Right now I'd rank him higher than any other pitching prospect in the system, other than Bachman - as I just wrote in the minor leagues thread. This isn't a guy who just put together a flash first six starts, with sexy numbers in the minors. He's legit.

How did this guy fall to the 11th round?!

Read something about him throwing 93'ish in college instead of the mid to upper 90's he's throwing now. Also was tagged with relief risk due to his body type

Either way, clearly looks like the Angels got a find here. Mid 90's FB with an easy plus splitter.

I like what I said about him in my ranking...

Ah, good times. The Weaver hype was through the roof and he delivered right out of the gate for about 6 starts before being sent back down for a few weeks while they wasted another handful of starts with Jeff Weaver in the rotation

I remember that. I wanted to go postal on someone at the time.

Sending him back down was an incredibly dumb decision.
