He's their Heaney. It's weird because I was looking at his BR page, and the traditional numbers kinda suggest he's worth a flyer... then you start looking at the WHIP and the BB/9. Gonna say no until he proves he can throw strikes without getting demolished in AAA.

He's got velocity you can't teach, and Minasian is familiar with him from his days in Atlanta. It's practically a forgone conclusion the Angels claim him.

I dunno, given how relatively tight the 40-man is, the fact he has no options, and that he’d be a reclamation project I don’t think he fits, unless they put him in the carousel spot of Wantz/Rosenberg/Moran. 

I think the Angels would like to keep that spot open though to rotate optionable long-relievers through as needed. 

I’m sure another team grabs him before he gets to the Angels.

I noticed this yesterday and almost tweeted about how funny it was that he got called up the day Newcomb got DFA’d but figured at this point it was too long ago for anyone to care.

That's weird.  I'm having lunch with Hellweg and Zach Borenstein midweek.  Maybe Tank and I should combine lunches.
