I'm full of anecdotes in this thread!  Deliverance is (very loosely...) based on real events that happened to novelist/poet/screenwriter James Dickey.  Those events occurred in Ellijay, GA, where my dad's family still lives.  The river runs through my grandparents' property.

Ned Beatty's (R.I.P.) son is also one of my good friends.  He has never watched Deliverance, because he didn't want to see "that scene" involving his dad...

Yankees can't even do the little things right this season, especially playing defense. Very Angels-like. So much for them having a bright future with the Baby Bombers leading the way.

I think someone mentioned how bad Cishek is with inherited runners.

He's allowing 50% of inherited runners to score so far this year so maybe avoid those for Cishek.
