If Ohtani even goes 3 innings it's likely irrelevant since he's probably only gonna hit 5 times. We have enough pinch hitters for that low bar. But with his shit command Ohtani isn't even reliable to get those innings. Every inning he takes the mound it's gotta make Maddon nervous.
